Nexus of Notions
- 1. Each participant must carry the hard copy of their valid university id card.
- 2. Each participating college will be allowed to send maximum 3 teams consisting of two members each, inter-college teams won't be allowed.
- 3. One member will speak in favour of the motion, while the other will argue against it.
- 4. Teams must register their participation with the organising committee prior to the set deadline.
- 5. The speaking time for each team will be allocated as follows: i): For the speaker in favour of the motion: 5(4+1) minutes for the initial speech, followed by a 2-minute rebuttal ii): For the speaker against the motion: 5 (4+1) minutes for the initial speech, followed by a 2-minute rebuttal.
- 6. A warning bell will sound at 4 minutes and a final bell at 5 minutes for the initial speech.
- 7. Similarly, a warning bell will sound at 1 minute and a final bell at 2 minutes for the rebuttal.
- 8. Points will be deducted for exceeding the allotted speaking time.
- 9. The use of any electronic devices, including smartphones, during the debate is strictly prohibited.
- 10. Teams must adhere to the principles of respectful discourse and refrain from using profanity, personal attacks, or any form of discrimination.
- 11. The decision of the judging panel will be final and binding.
- 12. Any breach of these rules may result in disqualification of the offending team.
- 13. Additional instructions or modifications to the rules may be provided by the organising committee before the commencement of the competition
